Hello,

I coach a youth football team in Albany NY (ages 9-11). I have done some serious research on this offense and LOVE IT! It would be a great fit for my kids. The only problem is that I am new to this style of offense at this level its always power I, double wing, ect....I wanna stretch the defense and give us some space and bigger running lanes. Does anyone have a practice plan that they have developed that has worked successfully for them? I'm talking from the pre-season on into the regular season. Like I said this is totally new to me and I want to make sure I am teaching it correctly and getting the most out of my practices.

I will try and post a typical youth practice in the next week or so.

Sorry about the delay:

Here is what we do:

10-15 minute Indy period.  We teach what we call our SAARS.  Stance, Alignment, Assignment, Read, and Responsibility.  This is the Fundamentals of the game period.  Footwork, etc..

10-15 minute Veer Triangle:  We run the veer, midline, option, trap, iso, pitch, jet, etc from the triangle.  We use the slots for motions, and we have the WR stalk block.  Everyone but the OL is participating in this drill. The OL are working on the fronts that they will see during the week.

10-15 minute Skelly:  This is our 7 on 7 time.  We work on all passing game here.

20-30 minute TEAM period in which we practice all of the plays, motions, formation etc. that we will use for the week.

We will repeat this format for all three days of the week.  Thursday is Pregame, Friday is game.

I hope this helps.
