The Pistol Spread Option Offense was developed in 2007 by Coach Anthony Pratley, who at the time was the Head Football Coach at Leonardtown High School in Leonardtown, MD. The system was designed to utilize the talent you have and be flexible enough to take advantage of the different athletes, and skill sets that change from year to year.

Coach Pratley took the Pistol Spread Option Offense to the collegiant level as the Offensive Coordinator at Concordia University Ann Arbor in Ann Arbor, MI where the system continued to develop, grow and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of college football and the defensive schemes that were presented.

Countless number of High School and College programs have adopted the Pistol Spread Option offense over the years, and it’s flexibility is what makes it so unique and allows it to be a potent offensive system for nearly two decades.
